Physical Challenges

Physical challenges shouldn't stand in the way of enjoying the benefits of exercise and staying active.

Be adaptable

Activities may need to be adapted for different body types and abilities. For individuals with disabilities, there are many adaptive sports (e.g., wheelchair basketball) and activities available that cater to different needs and abilities. For individuals living in bigger bodies, there are plenty of cardio and stretching exercises that are easy for people of all sizes! If traditional forms of exercise aren't feasible, consider exploring low-impact activities like swimming, cycling, or gentle yoga.

Learn limits

It's important to learn our limits and listen to our bodies to stay safe while exercising. Pushing ourselves too hard can lead to injury and setbacks, so it's essential to know when to take breaks and modify activities as needed

Safety

Additionally, exercising in safe environments is crucial for preventing accidents. Avoiding areas with dangerous terrain, such as poorly maintained sidewalks or streets with debris, can help reduce the risk of falls or injuries.
