The Community Impacts on Physical Activity Research Team studies how the community, including neighborhoods, schools, and a variety of other settings impact physical activity in youth and adults. This works spans measurement, behavioral epidemiology, health behavior change, and implementation science. Our work is informed by evidence showing that establishing healthy habits during childhood and creating environments that support rather than inhibit physical activity are critical to lifelong chronic disease prevention. Our research team is part of the Center for Children's Healthy Lifestyles and Nutrition and Children's Mercy Kansas City.
